Virtual Machines in Teaching

Software complexity has exploded. This can be seen in teaching as an increased burden both on teacher and student side on time spent installing software. Each course requires its own unique set of software, which means this setup time multiplies. Devices are also very heterogeneous on the operating system sides.

For this, we are developing and evaluating a virtual machine solution to move the setup costs to the initial setup of a virtual machine executor. The research is ongoing.
